Few days before the new film 'Midnight Sun' released, I had a chance to watch the trailer and it change my impression of the film. At the beginning I thought it must be a romantic movie as usual, but it wasn't. It actually talked about a deeper issue. It's a story about how Katie, who has Xeroderma Pigmentosum, accept her fate and how her friends and family learn to say goodbye.
Katie is a girl who could never goes under sunlight due to a rare genetic disease. Her life is totally opposite to other people, she could only start her activity after the sunset. For her, everyday is the same; guitar, dad and Morgan. Until one day she saw him, Charlie.

Katie was singing at the train station and that was the first time he met her. But he never knew that Katie had been watching him for fourteen years. And then they started to date everyday. For Katie, this is the first time to be a normal girl without a disease. Then Charlie brought Katie to Seattle for a live band and he wanted to bring her to the sunrise. She was so afraid and ran away. Charlie had no idea what's going on. After going to hospital, Katie refused to reply all the messages from Charlie, she didn't want to hurt him. She knew that death is now waiting for her. Then she tried to make her dad find a girl who can take care of him. Through the talk, she finally realized Charlie would be able to handle this, and the only way to make herself happy is Charlie. She asked Charlie to bring her to the ocean and see the sunset, her dad and Morgan knew that would be the last time seeing Katie...
When I was watching this movie, my tear could never stops. I know how hard her dad loves Katie. I couldn't imagine how hard it is to leave my love one and start my own life. I admire the love of Charlie, how he console Katie and hide his fear of loosing her. In this film, I feel how strong love is and we shouldn't wait until last minute to say "I love you".

The must touching scene for me is when Charlie tried to look inside from the dark window. He knows he could never see Katie behind the window, he still wanted to let her know he is just here. This scene reflect the life of Charlie after Katie died. Katie is not there anymore, but he knows Katie is always here in the bottom of his heart.
